World Book Day

Book 1 - 9.15am

Activity 1 - Characters!

 

KS1 - Create a picture of your favourite character from the story and label it. Try to use some brilliant adjectives if you can.

 

KS2 - Create a picture of your favourite character from the book and write a paragraph to describe them. Remember to use a range of techniques to help to build the picture in your reader’s mind. You might like to use expanded noun phrases, similes and metaphors.

Activity 2 - Setting!

 

KS1 - Create a picture of the scenery from the story that you have just listened to. Around your picture write down words to describe the scene using your 5 senses. 

 

What can be seen?

What can be felt?

What can be tasted?

What can you hear?

What can you smell?

 

KS2 -  Create a picture of the scene from the story that you have just listened to. You can decide the media that you would like to use. You could use paint, pencil or collage. Feel free to get creative!

 

Write a short paragraph showing the audience what your character is experiencing along the way.

 

e.g.

The river was cold.

The water lapped at the toes of the giant, creating shivers that ran through his body.
