ELSA Resources

Dear Families,

The Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs) here at St Nicholas are Mrs Mackness and Miss Bullough. An ELSA is a specialist educationalist with a wealth of experience of working with children with a range of emotional needs. ELSA’s are trained and regularly supervised by the school’s SENco (Mrs Barton) and Educational Psychologists in our Local education authority. An ELSA is a warm and caring person who wants to help your child feel happy and achieve their potential. Their aim is to remove the emotional barriers to learning and to have happy children in school and at home.

We can provide support through a range of resources, including social stories, as well as phone calls to speak to your child to reassure them. All of our resources are easily accessible here on our School Website. All resources are signposted in order to guide you to the most effective and suitable documents for your child’s needs.   Just click on the document you want to view and a pdf will open up.  Should you have any problems accessing these, or are unsure which resources are best suitable, please do not hesitate to contact either the ELSA’s or Mr Alfieri directly.

During these unprecedented times, both Mrs Mackness and Miss Bullough, as well as Mr Alfieri are available on Class Dojo during the school day should you have any concerns about your child’s emotional well-being.

Yours Sincerely,

Mrs Mackness & Miss Bullough.
