Bad Weather Contingency Plans

If it is safe to do so, a member of staff will assess the situation at school at 7.15am and we will aim to make a decision by 7.45am.

If the decision is made to close the school early in the morning, usually following a heavy overnight snowfall, it will be announced on Class Dojo and in the News Section of this website.

The RCC website also carries information on school closures, although it is not generally updated until after 9am. We will also ensure the School office is manned by staff who live locally. We would be grateful, however if you could check for Class Dojo announcements first and keep calls to the school to a minimum in order to keep the lines as clear as possible for emergency calls.

If, as a result of a heavy snowfall during the day we decide to send the children home early we will again publish this information on the school website, email those parents for whom we have email contacts, notify RCC and send a message on Class Dojo. It is vital that we have up to date contact details in the office, with several alternative contacts and numbers and, if appropriate permission, for your child to go to a friend’s house if you are not at home.
