Welcome to Year 5 and 6
Welcome back to Year 5 and 6, Team 4. We hope everyone had a great summer. We have a busy term ahead with lots of exciting new learning planned. I would like to introduce myself as a new member of the team, Mrs Ray. It has been lovely to meet some of you already and would like to say that you are more than welcome to come and have a chat with any of the team.
We will be learning together what it means to be resilient learners, to 'stick at' challenges and to be confident in our SMART ways of learning. Our topic work will be based around the subject of the Second World War, beginning with an exciting trip to Beaumanor, discovering what it might have been like to be an evacuee. We will be learning new skills in art and design, looking at wartime in 'perspective'and listening to some music from that time. As scientists we will be considering how materials can be groups and classified.
There is an exciting learning journey ahead of us and we are all looking forward to being a part of it.
