We can hardly believe we are in Term 6 already...where has the year gone to?! What a simply fantastic time we have had with your children and how very proud we are of each and every one of them and the progress they have made since starting school. We couldn't do it without all the wonderful support we have received from yourselves so a big thank you for working in such close partnership with us!
Our theme for this final term is 'We are the champions!' and we will be celebrating all our achievements this year as champion learners! Our continuous assessments and judgements across all areas of learning will be reported to parents this term (known as the EYFS Profile) together with your child's end of year report. We have much to celebrate...your children really are little champions!
As part of our topic, we will be learning about the Olympic games, sports, countries and flags. We will be thinking about healthy eating (ask your child about the 'power sandwiches' that they have designed, made and eaten!) and ways to improve our well being. (Our visit to the 'Learning Caravan' later this term will give us a wonderful insight into this!)
We have already enjoyed a very successful 'bring your bike to school' day and the children had so much fun riding their bike around the playground! We will make medals (even edible ones!), trophies and torches to name but a few activities. As we count down the days to the Olympic games, we look forward to the Olympic Torch coming to our county and our trip to Rutland Water to see it! Our Forest School sessions, sports day and another trip to 'Mini-Monsters' will mark the end of a very exciting and active term, and a wonderful year together.
As we continue to prepare your children for their transition to Year 1 (haven't they done well with their 'lining up' in a morning?!) please help your child on their journey by letting them show you just how independent they are! They are so very capable of doing all their little tasks and chores in a morning now and it is a joy to see them so confident and self assured. Our children are already experiencing some time each week in Class 2 and have been having a fantastic time. If your child has not been yet...don't worry, they will all get a turn before the end of term! If you have any queries about the transition process or questions about what to expect in September, please do pop in and see us.
Finally, thank you for your truly spectacular children - we have loved working with them and of course, thanks for being such supportive parents...it has been a pleasure working with you!
